About The Position

InterMetro Industries is seeking a Help Desk Specialist for our IT Department. This is a part-time position - only 25 hours per week. This role troubleshoots problems and/or provides guidance about products such as computers, electronic equipment, or software. The Help Desk Specialist benefits from exposure to new technologies, in addition to opportunities for software application development.

Requirements

  • Associate Vocational or Technical degree in an IT discipline
  • 1-4 years of related experience

Responsibilities

  • Responds to basic help desk calls on matters such as password resets and PC troubleshooting.
  • Serves as the back-up for the evening Computer Operator, covering shifts for vacation, sick, as needed.
  • Administers upgrades, repairs, and enhancements to computers, devices, and software.
  • Assists technical applications with troubleshooting issues pertaining to local workstations, printers, mobile devices (smartphones), and file shares.
  • Builds upgrades PCs for employees.
  • Lifts and transports PCs and accessories.
  • Engages 3rd party vendors for equipment repairs.
  • Installs and configures applications for end-users.
  • Educates end-users about various applications and platforms.
  • Possesses knowledge and understanding of the Code of Business Ethics.
  • Contributes to a workplace environment that is conducive to the maintenance of the Code.
  • Remains alert and sensitive to situations that could result in actions by an employee that are illegal, unethical, in violation of the Code or the policies and procedures that support the Code.
  • Reports actual or perceived violations of the Code or Company policies and procedures for appropriate action.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
