About The Position

ASCO Equipment is hiring Heavy Equipment Service Technicians in Wichita Falls, Texas, with shop and field positions available. The technician provides high-quality repair service on heavy equipment to meet customer needs in a responsive, friendly, knowledgeable, and timely manner, working with all departments to respond to customers. Pay is $24–$35 per hour, depending on experience. Entry-level candidates will receive on-the-job training; experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, or advanced electronics is preferred.

Requirements

• At least 2–3 years of shop or field heavy equipment troubleshooting and repair experience.
• Technical certifications or an associate degree.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical theories and principles.
• Ability to work within set time parameters, multitask, and follow procedures.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and exercise a degree of independent judgment.
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships and professionally manage difficult situations.
• Must be able to obtain a forklift license.
• Must furnish tools suitable for heavy equipment repair.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to maneuver around and crawl under equipment to conduct repairs.
• Ability to work safely in all weather conditions.
• Ability to properly lift and handle loads up to 55 pounds.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment visually and audibly.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, or advanced electronics.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform complex repairs in the shop or field, including pumps, hydraulics, engines, transmissions, HVAC, and electrical issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as scheduled.
• Complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Maintain an open line of communication with the service manager.
• Maintain daily truck inspection logs and keep the truck and work area clean and orderly.
• Provide daily reports using good written and verbal communication skills.
• Transmit information via email using computer skills.
