Heavy Equipment Processor
About The Position
Wallenius Wilhelmsen is seeking a Heavy Equipment Processor at its equipment processing center in Sanford, North Carolina. The role involves loading and unloading construction equipment for receiving and shipment, operating heavy equipment and material-handling machinery, moving equipment between the factory and yard, and completing related shipping and receiving paperwork. The position starts at $17.00 per hour, depending on experience. Work takes place in a professional shop and yard environment with frequent exposure to outdoor elements, dust, dirt, rain, fumes, and fluids.
Requirements
- Ability to operate various types of heavy equipment, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
- Ability to read and interpret paperwork associated with shipping and receiving.
- Ability to carry and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to complete a full workday walking and/or standing in reasonable weather conditions.
- Current valid driver's license.
- Steel-toed boots or shoes.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload construction equipment to and from trailers for receiving or shipment from the yard.
- Safely operate a lift truck, overhead crane, or other material-handling equipment.
- Drive and operate equipment, including backing up and using attachments or other machine movements to facilitate transport.
- Work outside in reasonable weather conditions.
- Read and interpret shipping and receiving paperwork, including bills of lading, shipping orders, manifests, tally sheets, and export documentation.
- Drive units from the factory to the yard for storage or distribution.
