About The Position

WIN Waste Innovations is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment at a recycling facility, landfill, or transfer station. The role supports transferring, spreading, covering, loading, and compacting waste or soil. Operators inspect and maintain equipment, monitor incoming waste, document equipment condition and minor service, and follow company safety procedures. They are also expected to keep the shop clean and maintain positive working relationships with customers, vendors, coworkers, and management.

Requirements

Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
Good time-management skills to complete assigned responsibilities efficiently and safely.
Ability to follow through, adhere to a work schedule, and address challenges as they arise.
Ability to follow company policies and rules, promote safety standards, and avoid inappropriate risks.
Pride in work and commitment to achieving goals.

Responsibilities

Perform pre- and post-operation equipment inspections according to company policy, ensuring windows, lights, mirrors, and rear-view cameras are clean.
Safely and efficiently operate equipment such as forklifts, excavators, bulldozers, and front-end loaders in accordance with proper safety standards.
Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable materials.
Monitor equipment condition to ensure it remains operational and minimize downtime; clean tracks or wheels as needed.
Perform and document minor equipment service and refer more complicated mechanical issues to the Maintenance Shop.
Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required reports, and report necessary repairs to a supervisor.
Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
Ensure the shop is clean, serviced, and stored at the completion of each shift.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
