About The Position

This position is responsible for operating a forklift and heavy equipment at the Gray Court, South Carolina site. The operator supports waste handling and processing by safely receiving, checking in, loading, and unloading waste in accordance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local rules. The role includes inspecting and maintaining equipment, checking waste shipments against manifests, collecting samples for analysis and compatibility checks, handling and managing containers, and maintaining a clean, safe work area. Personal protective equipment may be required.

Requirements

1–3 years of shipping, receiving, and warehouse experience.
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to operate a forklift and heavy equipment.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, and crawl.

Responsibilities

Follow health and safety policies and processes, and act safely at all times.
Monitor assigned equipment and notify the supervisor about issues or breakdowns.
Unload and load waste in accordance with company rules and regulations.
Offload and check in inbound waste streams.
Perform daily preventive maintenance and inspections on operating equipment.
Operate a forklift with attachments and other heavy equipment.
Check manifested waste types and quantities against the containers actually received.
Use appropriate equipment to collect material samples for analysis and compatibility checks.
Keep work areas, walls, pit drains, and floors clean and safe.
Understand and use coding and labeling systems to handle and manage containers.
Use required personal protective equipment when handling materials.
Shovel, sweep, and clean the assigned area periodically throughout the day.
Perform other duties assigned by the Plant Manager.
