About The Position

Clayton Supply Plant 979 is hiring an Equipment Operator for work in the Duracraft Cabinet operation. The role involves operating, setting up, and maintaining an assigned saw used to produce parts to requested dimensions. The operator feeds the machine and makes adjustments, and is cross-trained to perform both operator and catcher tasks, with the catcher checking product quality.

The position supports daily production goals, efficiency, cleanliness, safety, and coworker training in coordination with production management. Work is primarily outdoors and may be subject to weather, noise, and dust.

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and, on occasion, up to 80 pounds.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematics.
• Advanced knowledge of machinery and equipment used within the primary job duty.
• Maintain equipment-operation certification if required.
• Demonstrated teamwork, accuracy, thoroughness, productivity, punctuality, and dependability.

Responsibilities

• Promote teamwork within the department and coordinate with production management on production goals, efficiency, cleanliness, safety, and coworker training.
• Operate, set up, and perform maintenance on the assigned saw.
• Feed the saw and adjust it to produce requested dimensions.
• Inspect finished products for quality.
• Keep production reporting clean, accurate, and legible.
• Understand and observe all safety policies and procedures.
• Interpret assigned job orders.
• Operate related equipment and train workers in equipment operation.
• Report work progress to production management.
• Coordinate with general laborers.
• Perform other duties as required by management.
