About The Position

ASCO Equipment is seeking a Heavy Equipment Service Technician to work on-site in San Antonio, Texas. In this hands-on role, the technician diagnoses, repairs, and maintains heavy equipment to keep customers’ machinery operating at peak performance. The position involves working in the shop and in the field, delivering efficient, professional service with a customer-first mindset and collaborating across departments to meet customer needs. Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in heavy equipment or material handling repair, or a technical certification or associate’s degree.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and work within time constraints.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Ability to obtain a forklift license.
• Own tool set for heavy equipment or material handling repair.
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to handle loads up to 55 pounds and maneuver around or crawl under equipment to conduct repairs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, HVAC, and electrical systems in the shop or in the field.
• Perform planned maintenance to keep equipment running smoothly.
• Work with the Service Manager and other departments to meet customer needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace in the shop and on the road.
• Use computers and communication tools to document repairs and coordinate with the team.
