About The Position

United Ag & Turf is a John Deere Dealership with locations across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and New Mexico, serving commercial, construction, agricultural, and consumer customers. The Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic independently performs on-site diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on customer agricultural, commercial, and turf equipment. The role may receive direction or guidance from the Field Service Manager.

Requirements

At least 4 years of experience performing service repairs.
Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to perform complex repairs and required maintenance using special tools.
Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used to repair agricultural and turf equipment.
Ability to use computers, vehicles, and equipment.
Ability to repeatedly lift at least 75 pounds.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Advanced or Master Service Technician certification.
Forklift certification.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technology.
Perform diagnostics and repairs in the field as required.
Maintain an accurate inventory of parts stocked on the service vehicle.
Mentor Service Technicians and Apprentice Technicians.
Identify and communicate solutions for customer service opportunities in the area of responsibility.
Be accountable for billable time and assigned work orders.
Document diagnostics and repairs completely and thoroughly on work orders, and submit information on time.
Participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs as needed to develop skills and knowledge.
Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment required to perform job responsibilities.
Maintain a clean work area and perform work neatly and orderly.
Follow all safety rules and regulations when performing work assignments.
Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
