About The Position
Snider Fleet Solutions is hiring skilled Truck and Trailer Mechanics to perform maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and trailers. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, brake and wheel-end work, and completing associated forms and documentation. It does not involve heavy engine or transmission repair. Multiple locations are hiring. Requirements
- At least 1 year of diesel mechanic experience.
- Valid Class C driver's license.
- Federal Annual and Brake Inspector certification required within 6 months of hire.
- Ability to read technical manuals and instructions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-service-oriented approach.
- Ability to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks and document the work.
- Repair and maintain heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections, brake jobs, brake chamber and slack adjuster replacements, wheel seal replacements, and wheel-end adjustments.
- Inspect trailer systems and components for damage, excessive wear, loose bolts, broken welds, structural deficiencies, air or oil leaks, stuck, frozen, or rusted parts, and safety-device issues.
- Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and promptly.
- Complete work orders accurately and ensure all parts are included.
- Follow safety protocols and company policies.
