Requirements

  • Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot various issues in a methodical manner.
  • Experience working on construction and heavy equipment.
  • Comfortable with technology and familiar with work order software.
  • Registered Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice (all levels encouraged to apply).
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork.
  • Knowledge of industry safety regulations and compliance practices.
  • Strong communication skills and team-oriented approach.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CVIP inspections is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, graders, packers, skid steers, trucks, and support equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and engine-related issues.
  • Complete service documentation and repair records accurately.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to prioritize repairs and maintenance schedules.
  • Mentor and support apprentice mechanics in their development.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment.
  • Assist Journeyman Mechanics with equipment inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance services including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
  • Help diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues under supervision.
  • Complete equipment inspections and report deficiencies.
  • Learn proper troubleshooting techniques and repair procedures.
  • Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate actively in apprenticeship training and skill development opportunities.
