About The Position

As an apprentice, you will be responsible for assisting the Shop Foreman with the maintenance and repair of our trucks and trailers. This position will report directly to the Shop Foreman and Regional Operations Manager. Other responsibilities will also include keeping inventory, conducting diagnostic tests, assisting technicians, and performing any other shop-related tasks. Requirements

Be able to occasionally lift up to 70 lbs. Also able to squat, reach, etc.
Be able to work independently and as part of a team
Computer skills
Availability to work after hours and be on an on call schedule.
Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and an ability to deal tactfully with a wide range of personalities
Valid driver’s license with clean abstract and background check

Nice To Haves

3 years of experience in similar job, preferred
Truck and Trailer experience would be considered an asset

Responsibilities

Diagnose problems with vehicles and schedule repairs
Perform minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers
Perform regular diagnostic tests on trucks
Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing component and part upgrades
Maintain parts inventory
Perform other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Regional Manager or supervisor
Maintain Fleet Service Management data entry
