About The Position

The HD Mechanic will be responsible for effectively performing maintenance and service of property, equipment, and vehicles. This role involves diagnosing faults, performing repairs, and ensuring equipment operates according to specifications and safety regulations. The mechanic will work primarily in a shop environment but may also work outside or on-site. Mentorship and adherence to safety protocols are key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Licensed Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certificate
  • CVIP Tech License
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean commercial drivers abstract
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working with heavy trucks, picker trucks, light duty fleet and various oilfield related trailers.
  • Ability to work in team-oriented environment
  • Ability to work outside or on site, with the majority of work in the shop
  • Must have own tools for start of work term and remove them at end of work term at own expense.
  • CSTS 2020, H2S, First Aid and CSO required.

Nice To Haves

  • Class 1 license an asset
  • Experience in Cummins diesels engines an asset

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily maintenance of property, equipment (i.e., Trucks and Trailers), and vehicles throughout the facility.
  • Inspect and evaluate operating conditions of equipment and vehicles.
  • Perform maintenance activities and modifies existing equipment and systems to keep the facility in good running order.
  • Read, understand, and follow hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical diagrams.
  • Ensure that all maintenance is completed in accordance with established department policies and safety regulations.
  • Attend training sessions to update technical knowledge as needed.
  • Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extend of repair needed.
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand tools and power tools.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications and NCSG’s policies.
  • Follow all NCSG Safety rules and safe work practices.
  • Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
  • Be a positive mentor.
