About The Position

The Heavy Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of public and non-public areas of the casino according to casino standards. The role includes operating cleaning machines and using cleaning chemicals, completing assignments independently and with a group, and providing professional customer service. Duties must be performed in accordance with Seneca Gaming Corporation policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards, and objectives. Working hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule. The work environment is usually moderately loud and becomes loud on the casino floor; smoking is permitted.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old upon employment.
Must be familiar with the proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
Must know how to operate cleaning machines, including buffers, burnishers, carpet cleaning machines, and escalator cleaning machines.
Must possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.
Must be able to interact effectively with customers and employees and resolve problems or conflicts diplomatically and tactfully.
Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must be able to perform heavy lifting.
Must maintain the physical stamina and mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment and deal effectively with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous customer service experience preferred.
Previous housekeeping experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Maintain the cleanliness of the casino using cleaning machines and other cleaning equipment.
Carry out individual assignments and work with a group.
Use cleaning chemicals appropriately.
Understand and comply with information security policies and procedures, including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy.
Provide exceptional customer service and communicate pleasantly, professionally, and courteously with patrons, supervisors, managers, and staff.
Meet attendance guidelines and comply with regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
Complete all required SGC Training programs within nine months of commencing employment.
Attend necessary meetings.
