About The Position

The Heavy Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of public and non-public areas of the casino according to casino standards. The role involves operating cleaning machines and using cleaning chemicals, completing assignments individually and as part of a team, and providing professional customer service. All duties must be performed in accordance with Seneca Gaming Corporation policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards, and objectives. The position follows a schedule determined by a 24-hour schedule, and duties and requirements may change as needed.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old upon employment.
Must be familiar with the proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
Knowledge of operating buffers, burnishers, carpet-cleaning machines, escalator-cleaning machines, and other cleaning equipment.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.
Ability to interact effectively with customers and employees and resolve problems or conflicts diplomatically and tactfully.
Able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Able to perform heavy lifting and maintain physical stamina and a proper mental attitude while working under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment.
Able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous customer service experience preferred.
Previous housekeeping experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Maintain the cleanliness of casino public and non-public areas.
Operate buffers, furnishers, burnishers, carpet-cleaning machines, escalator-cleaning machines, and other cleaning equipment.
Carry out assignments independently and as part of a group.
Use cleaning chemicals appropriately.
Understand and comply with information security policies and procedures, including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy.
Provide exceptional customer service and communicate pleasantly, professionally, and in a friendly manner with patrons, supervisors, managers, and staff.
Meet attendance guidelines and comply with regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
Complete required SGC training programs within nine months of starting employment.
Attend necessary meetings.
