About The Position

The Heart and Vascular Coordinator assists with various office and/or clinical projects for the Department. The primary role is to process incoming and outgoing referrals for the Jacksonville Heart & Vascular (CTS& vascular) clinics, and additional administrative projects as assigned by the Medical Director, faculty, or manager using independent judgment and initiative. The employee will be a Liaison between UFJHI Departments and UF Health.

Requirements

  • 2 years Clerical/customer service (prefer in Medical Facility) required
  • 2 years Computer/Database experience i.e. Microsoft Office products-Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, and Outlook required.
  • High School Diploma or GED - required

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree - preferred

Responsibilities

  • Receive and distribute any patient testing, labs, scans and x-rays to medical provider.
  • Use intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills to create and format spreadsheets and workbooks. Establish Excel database for assigned grant project(s).
  • Calls the patients at home to check on their status and to addresses any questions, worries or concerns. Answers, screens and directs incoming calls.
  • Assist patients with directions and instructions as needed. Document outpatient records accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist with special projects or events as directed by management.
  • Communicates routinely with physicians, administrators and other employees/departments via telephone and e-mail as necessary.
  • Support patients in navigating the clinic system and community resources.
  • Verifies insurance coverage, obtains authorization, submits clinical information as required and communicates with patient, vendors, surgeon and hospital abreast of the surgical plan.
