About The Position

The Stress Technician performs direct patient care and indirect patient care tasks as assigned. In this role the individual routinely administers cardiovascular diagnostic testing as ordered by a physician in assigned areas, including ECG and NICOM, amongst others.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent
  • 0 -1 year Stress Technician experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification provided by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Post-Employment: BLS and ACLS, provided by the American Heart Association (AHA), required within 30 days of hire.
  • Post-Employment: Phlebotomy competency required for Out Patient Laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Upon the order of a physician provides direct patient care services: (1) Holter Monitor and Ambulatory Blood Pressure application (2) Physiologic monitoring of the cardiopulmonary system (ECG, and Exercise Tolerance Testing both chemical and regular.) (3) Phlebotomy (4) NICOM (non-invasive cardiac monitoring cardiography).
  • Utilizes selected healthcare applications proficiently: MUSE Everywhere and Allscripts.
  • Stays abreast on all equipment functions and associated precautions and hazards of all equipment used. Provides necessary support to maintain proper equipment function.
  • Adheres to the proper procedure for obtaining, charging for, and returning supplies/equipment and maintains adequate supply levels through the use of accurate inventory control.
  • Reviews daily work to check for completeness, obvious errors or omissions.
  • Provides efficient transportation for patients both to and from requesting service areas.
  • All other duties as assigned.
