About The Position

Snapscale is seeking a highly skilled Healthcare Virtual Assistant who can work onsite to support day-to-day clinic operations and ensure a seamless patient experience. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and hands-on experience in U.S. healthcare processes. The ideal candidate must have proven expertise in EMR systems, specifically Athena EMR, and the ability to manage multiple clinical and administrative tasks efficiently.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months to 1 year of hands-on experience with Athena EMR
  • Experience working with US based clinics and/or health insurance providers
  • Experience in insurance verification, patient coordination, and inbound call handling
  • Experience in medical chart scrubbing and prior authorization processing
  • Experience in refill processing, lab result auditing, and follow-up coordination
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated for onsite work

Nice To Haves

  • Medical billing and coding experience is an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Verify patient benefits and insurance coverage accurately and efficiently
  • Reactivate past patients and maintain engagement through consistent follow-ups
  • Handle inbound calls and assist patients with inquiries professionally and empathetically
  • Conduct appointment confirmations, reminders, and outbound follow-ups
  • Schedule and reschedule patient appointments using Athena EMR
  • Maintain and update patient records in Athena EMR
  • Perform medical chart scrubbing to ensure accuracy and completeness of patient data
  • Process and manage prior authorizations following payer and clinic guidelines
  • Handle prescription refills in accordance with clinic protocols
  • Audit laboratory results and follow up on missing or pending reports
  • Monitor and manage clinic virtual kiosks as needed
