About The Position

Blackstone Consulting, Inc. (BCI) is hiring a Healthcare Security Officer to serve as part of the security and care delivery team for a healthcare provider. The officer protects staff and property from theft, damage, hazards, interference, and potential violence. The role involves an active, fast-paced healthcare environment where conditions may shift quickly, and patients, staff, and visitors rely on the officer’s compassion and knowledge. BCI describes a collaborative team atmosphere and offers training and career development. The position requires learning and applying basic healthcare security practices, identifying and reporting risks, communicating effectively across stakeholder groups, delivering professional service, and motivating or influencing others. Officers must complete a healthcare competency assessment and training in defusing assaultive behavior, follow onsite mask and social-distancing requirements, and pass the client’s pre-employment drug test, health screen, and criminal background check.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Have a reliable, functional means of communication, such as a cell phone.
Have the legal right to work in the United States.
Possess a valid government-issued driver’s license.
Hold an active state-issued guard card.
Successfully pass the client’s pre-employment drug test, health screen, and criminal background check.
Be able to properly wear an N95 mask and follow onsite social-distancing guidelines.
Complete a healthcare competency assessment and training on defusing assaultive behavior.
Demonstrate the ability to learn, retain, and perform basic healthcare security functions; identify, manage, and report security risks; communicate effectively; provide professional, client-responsive service; and motivate, inspire, and influence others.

Responsibilities

Remain alert for signs of crime, disorder, hazards, and unusual activity.
Patrol on foot, bicycle, or in a vehicle to identify unsafe conditions, blocked entryways, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized individuals.
Verbally and physically de-escalate individuals when needed.
Inspect security devices and fire-control equipment.
Screen members, visitors, and client employees to facilitate facility entry.
Respond calmly and urgently to fires, medical emergencies, bomb threats, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergencies, hazardous materials, and inclement weather.
Prepare accurate logs and investigative reports in a form fellow officers and supervisors can interpret.
Read and interpret police reports, local and state laws, and procedure manuals.
Accurately enter information and maintain the Lost and Found department log according to departmental restrictions.
Ensure property removal follows applicable policies and client standards.
