About The Position

This is a CTE (Career and Technical Education) Healthcare Teaching Position for Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) for grades 11 and 12. The instructor will facilitate learning activities to ensure students acquire the principles, theory, skills, and work ethic necessary for proficient entry-level positions in healthcare. This role involves developing and executing lesson plans aligned with Health Science CTE Pathway competencies, updating curriculum, and managing program resources.

Requirements

  • Must have nursing experience and current license.
  • Must have long-term care experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft office products, including Excel.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others in an academic environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years teaching experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate learning activities for students to master principles, theory, skills, and work ethic for entry-level positions.
  • Develop and execute lesson plans leading to student mastery of Health Science CTE Pathway competencies.
  • Develop and update curriculum as needed.
  • Prepare orders for supplies, instruments, equipment, and instructional materials.
  • Maintain inventory and repair records.
  • Ensure safe and proper operation and maintenance of instruments and equipment.
  • Create a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor, assess, and advise learners on technical and academic progress.
  • Stay informed about new trends, methods, materials, instruments, and equipment in the health science industry.
  • Actively participate in professional development activities.
  • Integrate Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) leadership activities.
  • Use current academic and industry practices in assigned courses.
  • Develop and upgrade lesson material, training aids, and maintain equipment.
  • Assist in the recruitment and placement of learners.
  • Attend technical update classes annually to maintain certifications.
  • Analyze and interpret test data.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds using safe lifting techniques.
  • Work with the district CTE Coordinator for state and federal reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
