About The Position

The Healthcare Accounts Receivable Associate manages a portfolio of accounts under guidance and supports healthcare revenue cycle performance through claim follow-up, collections, and resolution of assigned accounts. The role handles insurance calls and payer portals, works basic denials and appeals, maintains accurate account notes, follows departmental processes, and meets productivity and quality expectations. Complex or unresolved issues are escalated to Senior Associates or Team Leads.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of experience in physician collections, accounts receivable follow-up, and denial management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-driven approach.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
• Experience with reporting and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of accounts under guidance.
• Conduct claim follow-up and collections, including insurance calls and use of payer portals, to progress accounts toward resolution.
• Work assigned accounts to resolution, including basic denials and appeals.
• Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely account notes.
• Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimize revenue cycle performance.
• Follow departmental best practices and processes.
• Meet daily productivity and quality expectations.
• Escalate complex or unresolved issues to Senior Associates or Team Leads.
• Maintain account status in good standing according to workflow requirements.
• Meet or exceed accounts receivable resolution targets, productivity benchmarks, and quality and accuracy standards.
