About The Position

Achievers Early College Prep Charter School (AECP) is seeking a dedicated Health Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role involves teaching Health Science in a classroom setting, incorporating hands-on activities, career experiences, and standards-aligned instruction. The teacher will be responsible for designing and executing experiments, creating workable solutions, and utilizing online applications to enhance learning. A key aspect of this position is the design and implementation of curriculum and assessments that measure progress towards academic standards, using data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices. The teacher will also be receptive to weekly coaching, committed to professional growth, and accountable for students' mastery of academic standards. Effective communication with students, families, and colleagues is essential, as is familiarity with Google Classroom and virtual meeting platforms. This position is part of a collaborative team focused on continuously improving curriculum and instruction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Teaching experience in an upper elementary, middle, or high school with an underserved population
  • Adept interpersonal and communication skills to diverse audiences
  • Valid NJ Teacher Certification completed or in progress
  • Familiarity with Google Classroom and virtual meeting platforms

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree is preferred
  • Interest in CTE Pathways as a certification
  • CTE Certification preferred, but not required.
