About The Position

DSST Public Schools is hiring middle and high school science teachers for multiple locations. Teachers create a dynamic, inclusive learning environment in which students engage in scientific inquiry, hands-on exploration, and sense-making. They guide students in developing scientific knowledge through modeling, clear explanations, and practical applications. Instruction is aligned with NGSS and effective literacy and math practices, and is designed to help students tackle complex issues in their communities. DSST’s curriculum centers the cultures and histories of underrepresented and marginalized communities. Middle school teachers teach an integrated NGSS science curriculum for grades 6–8. High school course offerings include physics, chemistry, biology, AP courses in those subjects, and science electives. Grade level and campus preferences are discussed during interviews. Teachers use DSST curriculum resources and teach approximately 3–5 classes daily, depending on campus and content area. This is a full-time, in-person, benefits-eligible school-year position, with staff training beginning at the end of July. Salary is $60,000–$78,000, based on aligned years of experience up to 10 years. Relocation stipends are offered to those joining from 75 miles or more from Denver. DSST recruits for this evergreen role on an ongoing basis, reviewing applications on a rolling basis and contacting qualified candidates as opportunities become available. The organization serves more than 7,500 students and reports that 97% attend a Green-rated school. DSST participates in Colorado PERA, and the role is PERA-covered.
