The City of Woodstock is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator for a 16-month contract position. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating various occupational health and safety training sessions, administering corporate orientation training, and assisting in the development, implementation, auditing, and improvement of the City’s Health & Safety program. The coordinator will also research, develop, implement, monitor, evaluate, and update corporate health and safety policies, procedures, SOPs, and Safety Talks, and assist departments with their specific health and safety needs. Additionally, the role involves supervising the function and effectiveness of City Joint Health & Safety Committees and Health & Safety Reps, investigating health and safety complaints and workplace accidents, tracking worker injury data, conducting occupational hygiene testing, reviewing Safety Data Sheets (SDS), conducting fit testing, liaising with regulatory agencies, and assisting in the selection of safety devices and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The coordinator will also act as an alternate Risk Management / Safety Officer under the City’s Incident Management System (IMS).
