About The Position

Twin Valley Co-op is hiring a Health & Safety Coordinator responsible for the management of safety management systems, including site inspections, incident investigations, hazard identifications, policies, procedures, manuals, emergency response plans, and updates to the SMS. Nice To Haves

  • Prefer 3 years of experience in a Health and Safety Position in a retail environment but are willing to train the right individual.
  • A certificate, diploma or designation in Occupational Health and Safety is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership and support to all WSH committees and representatives.
  • Lead the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of applicable safety management systems, facilitating safety initiatives for all team members.
  • Ensure appropriate safety protocols are developed, maintained, observed, and followed for the applicable business unit (s).
  • Identify the safety training needs for all team members and work with the resource safety team.
  • Schedule the required safety training for team members.
  • Provide expertise and support in analyzing all workplace incidents, accidents and near misses.
  • Ensure the required documentation for safety-related occurrences is prepared and submitted within the allotted timelines to applicable internal and external stakeholders.
