About The Position

The North Lambton Community Health Centre is seeking applicants for a Health Promotion Program Officer position, funded by the Government of Canada – Summer Jobs initiative. This is an 8-week contract position, 35 hours per week, primarily based at the Forest or Sarnia site. The role involves providing a range of services to the Health Promotion team, including administrative duties like copying, creating brochures, presentations, and marketing materials. The officer will also assist in organizing and executing special events, such as supporting programming like kids' cooking classes and trail walking, as well as other Centre summer events. Duties for other teams may also be required.

Requirements

Registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and returning to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year.
Enrollment in a Public Health, Health Sciences, Recreation Therapy, etc., field of study at a recognized College or University.
Between the ages of 15 and 30 (inclusive) at the start of employment.
Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial and legislation and regulations.
Proficiency in the use of technology and excellence in various software applications required (e.g., Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Canva, movie maker, Facebook and Instagram posts).

Nice To Haves

Proficiency in the French language is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Provide administrative duties such as copying, creating brochures, presentations, and other marketing materials.
Assist the Health Promotion Team organize and execute special events.
Support programming such as kids cooking classes and trail walking.
Assist with other Centre summer events.
Complete duties for other teams when necessary.
