About The Position

This position focuses on health promotion and prevention education. The coordinator will manage outreach logistics for health education workshops and events, implement and evaluate programs on various health topics, and facilitate interactive workshops. A key responsibility is overseeing the SPARCS peer education program, which involves recruiting, supervising, and training peer educators on sexual health and violence prevention. The role also includes administrative support, data collection and analysis, and contributing to strategic planning and program evaluation. The position requires flexibility with work hours, including evenings and weekends, with potential for one day of telework per week after 90 days.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, health promotion, health education, higher education, or health related field.
  • Three years of related work experience.
  • Hold a background in sexual/reproductive health and/or sexual violence prevention.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member and with a diverse population of colleagues and students.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in public health, health promotion, student affairs, or health related field.
  • Experience developing and facilitating health education programs.
  • Experience in providing comprehensive sexual health education.
  • Experience with data collection, assessment, and program evaluation.
  • Knowledge of college student development and behavior change theory.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage outreach request logistics for health education workshops, outreach tables, and outreach requests from campus partners, departments, and student organizations.
  • Coordinate, implement, and evaluate health and well-being events on a variety of topics including stress management, general well-being, sexual health, sexual assault prevention, and sleep hygiene.
  • Facilitate interactive health education workshops and educational outreach tables.
  • Ensure programs are inclusive, accessible, and student centered.
  • Ensure health education and marketing materials are updated, accurate, and evidence-based.
  • Coordinate services offered by the Health Promotion team to ensure cohesive program delivery.
  • Oversee the implementation and utilization of the Health Promotion SPARCS (Student Peer Advocates on Relationships, Consent, and Sexuality) peer education program.
  • Recruit, supervise, and train peer educators and graduate assistants in providing health and well-being education to students across campus specifically on topics including sexual health and sexual violence prevention.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive peer education training program.
  • Coordinate peer-led workshops, outreach events, and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with campus departments, student organizations, and external partners to implement programs, initiatives, and events.
  • Provide on-going mentorship and professional development to peer educators.
  • Supervise and support a graduate assistant assigned to the program.
  • Maintain program documentation, training materials, and assessment.
  • Collect, track, and analyze data for workshops, outreach initiatives, and peer education programs.
  • Support daily operations of the Health Promotion team.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and program evaluation efforts.
  • Serve on campus wide committees as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
