About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Clinic Manager or Clinic Director, the Health Center Clinic Supervisor is responsible for coordinating day-to-day clinic activities and providing supervision and guidance to assigned staff within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environment. The position supports efficient patient flow, service quality, staff readiness, and consistent use of established workflows. The Clinic Supervisor works within established policies and procedures and escalates staffing, employee relations, compliance, and operational matters requiring higher-level management review or approval.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of two (2) years of healthcare or clinic operations experience preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year of lead, team coordination, or supervisory experience preferred.
Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center, integrated healthcare setting, or community health environment preferred.
Knowledge of clinic operations, scheduling, referrals, integrated care workflows, and patient service standards preferred.
Experience using Electronic Health Records, electronic timekeeping systems, and operational reporting tools preferred.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and healthcare technology systems.
Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and automobile liability insurance may be required for assigned travel.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred; required within 30 days of employment if applicable to assignment.
Vision, hearing, manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination must be adequate for performance of job duties.
Able to sit at desk, use keyboard, write and physically perform Qualifications

Responsibilities

Coordinate day-to-day clinic activities, including patient flow, staffing and scheduling coverage, work assignments, and communication of operational priorities.
Provide supervision and work direction to assigned front office, back office, referral, outreach, enrollment, and support staff in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Support onboarding, orientation, training, competency development, and ongoing coaching for assigned staff; escalate employee relations matters requiring higher-level management review or approval.
Observe staff performance, provide timely feedback, document concerns and accomplishments, and contribute factual input to performance reviews completed by management.
Review timekeeping, attendance, coverage, and leave information for completeness and promptly route discrepancies or approval needs to the Clinic Manager.
Track required trainings, competencies, certifications, licensures, health clearances, and related deadlines, and report missing or expired items to management.
Support integrated care workflows involving medical, behavioral health, care coordination, chronic care management, and population health services.
Work with providers and clinic staff to maintain schedules, patient access, customer service standards, and efficient daily workflows.
Implement and reinforce established clinic policies, procedures, workflows, and operational protocols; suggest improvements to management.
Monitor routine clinic activity, patient flow, service concerns, and workflow barriers, and provide status updates or recommendations to the Clinic Manager or Director.
Assist with quality improvement activities related to HEDIS, UDS, preventive care, patient safety, care gap closure, and population health outcomes.
Promote staff adherence to HRSA, Medi-Cal, OSHA, HIPAA, infection prevention, licensing, accreditation, and organizational requirements, and escalate identified concerns.
Use Electronic Health Record systems and established reports to support workflow coordination, follow-up, and accurate operational information.
Help coordinate referrals, specialty services, outreach activities, community resources, and patient navigation efforts.
Monitor clinic supplies, equipment, laboratory support needs, and biohazard disposal processes, and submit requests or concerns to management.
Assist with approved cash-handling, reconciliation, and administrative reporting procedures under management oversight.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling patient, staff, and organizational information.
Address routine patient concerns and service issues, support appropriate service recovery, and escalate complaints, grievances, or other concerns requiring higher-level management review.
Support ongoing clinic readiness for regulatory reviews, audits, licensing inspections, accreditation surveys, HRSA Operational Site Visits (OSVs), emergency preparedness activities, and other organizational reviews.
Promote staff development, teamwork, accountability, professionalism, respectful communication and a positive workplace culture.
Participate in safety programs to promote patient and staff safety.
Maintain professional boundaries and standards of conduct.
Treat patients with respect, care, and concern at all times.
Maintain health and safety standards within the facility.

Attend meetings, trainings, and participate in committees as assigned.
