Health Care Technician II - Shift Supervisor (J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center)
About The Position
The Health Care Technician II Shift Supervisor provides direct, hands-on supervision to Health Care Technician I staff while also working directly with residents. The supervisor trains staff through modeling, observation, and feedback using a competency-based approach across resident settings. The position directly supervises approximately 10 Health Care Technician I employees. The role is based at J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center, an ICF-certified residential facility serving individuals with intellectual disabilities from 37 counties in western North Carolina. This position is designated mandatory and employees must report to work or stay over during adverse weather events.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Educational Development diploma and one year of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be in good standing with the North Carolina Health Care Personnel Registry.
- Must successfully complete required Staff Development training, including CPI, CPR, body mechanics, and lifting.
- Frequent bending and lifting are required.
- Must report to work or stay over during adverse weather events.
Nice To Haves
- Documented experience providing daily living activities and carrying out goal programs, including bathing, dressing, tooth brushing, feeding, changing attends on adults, communication, and behavior modification.
