About The Position
The Geriatric Adult Admissions Unit is an inpatient unit serving individuals from the ages of 60 years of age and older. The objective of the admissions unit is to provide a safe and structured environment. A multidisciplinary treatment team targets a broad range of psychiatric illnesses and behavioral challenges with various therapeutic programs and educational groups. Nursing teammates provide structured skill building activities and interaction in various settings throughout the day. As an essential member of a multidisciplinary care team, HCT II practices therapeutic principles when providing care to the patients they serve. The HCT II also acts as a role model and builds therapeutic and meaningful relationships between teammates and patients to facilitate patient success. Nursing care is performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This is a 3rd shift position (11pm – 7:30am).
Requirements
- High school or General Educational Development diploma and one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must successfully pass all required parts of CPI’s Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotions and psychosocial needs of the patient population served.
- Must demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit.
