About The Position

At Soho House, the Head Waiter/Waitress plays an essential role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for members and guests. Working closely with the Restaurant Manager and Front of House team, this role oversees service operations on the restaurant floor, guides staff, and maintains the high standards that reflect the identity of the club. The main responsibility is to ensure members have an enjoyable experience, providing excellent service from the initial greeting and taking orders through recommendations and payment.

Requirements

2–3 years of experience in a similar high-end dining environment.
Experience in a supervisory or senior waiter position.
Excellent food and beverage knowledge, including wine service.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a hands-on approach.
Confident, polished, and professional demeanour.
Exceptional communication and organisational skills.
Familiarity with POS systems and reservation software.

Responsibilities

Warmly greet members, introduce menus, and ensure immediate engagement upon seating.
Take accurate food and drink orders, accommodating allergies and dietary needs.
Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and on time.
Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items, including food and drink pairings.
Maintain exceptional table service by proactively topping up water, wine, and other beverages.
Set up and reset tables and maintain a clean, pristine environment.
Handle member requests and special accommodations flexibly to create personalized experiences.
Support payment by card, through the Soho House App, or through House Pay.
Maintain discretion and professionalism, especially when serving VIPs and PWKs.
Lead and supervise daily restaurant-floor service to deliver seamless, elevated guest experiences.
Support and motivate the waitstaff team through training, coaching, and consistent feedback.
