About The Position

At Soho House, the Head Host plays a central role in creating exceptional first impressions and ensuring a smooth, seamless experience for members and their guests. The role leads the host team in managing reservations, welcoming arrivals, and coordinating seating to maximise guest satisfaction and operational efficiency. With a warm, professional, and proactive approach, the Head Host sets the tone for service and supports the wider Front of House team in delivering high-quality hospitality.

Requirements

2–3 years’ previous experience as a Senior Host or Head Host in a luxury hospitality, fine dining, or private members’ club environment.
Proven leadership and team development skills.
Excellent communication, organisation, and multitasking abilities.
Strong knowledge of reservations and booking systems.
Warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Ability to demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule and Club School.
Ability to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Ability to take direction, work in a team environment, and work autonomously.

Responsibilities

Welcome every member by name and greet guests warmly and hospitably.
Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
Manage the Opera/OpenTable booking system to ensure members are seated according to their booking.
Lead, train, and mentor the host team to deliver consistently high service standards.
Create and manage daily floor plans and coordinate with waitstaff and managers for seamless service.
Coach and train junior team members on the job.
Ensure grooming, conduct, and service standards are upheld.
Resolve member complaints and handle interactions with hospitality and professionalism.
Maintain discretion and professionalism, especially when serving VIPs and PWKs.
Attend briefings and tastings and assist colleagues as needed.
