Head of Workplace Solutions Group
About The Position
Samsung Semiconductor is seeking a leader to head its Workplace Solutions Group (WSG), which creates and operates workplace environments that support employees and enable the business. The role leads the workplace experience for the San Jose US headquarters campus and regional offices across the United States, covering the employee journey, facilities operations and maintenance, workplace and facilities project roadmaps, site reliability, environmental health and safety (EHS), and physical security. The leader owns WSG's operating and capital budgets and its facilities management and service partners. They lead and develop Samsung employees and outsourced partners, present plans and results to senior leadership, contribute to the HR leadership team, and report to the SVP People Team. The position partners closely with HR, Finance, Real Estate and Construction, IT, Cybersecurity, MarCom, the business, and corporate security in Korea. Some travel to US offices is required.
Requirements
- 20 or more years leading workplace, facilities, or corporate services at scale, including experience with high-tech labs, data centers, open workspaces, and cafeterias, as well as headquarters-style campuses and distributed offices.
- 10 or more years managing teams, with a strong track record of hiring top-performing talent.
- Track record of creating and continually improving workplace experiences across the employee journey using feedback and data.
- Prior experience overseeing physical security, including its service delivery and partnerships with cybersecurity and a global corporate security organization.
- Experience with EHS and regulatory compliance, outsourced facilities and service partners, and operating and capital budgets.
- Experience managing critical environments and the hard-services side of facilities.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver multiple projects on time and within budget while managing competing priorities, and working knowledge of building trades.
- Experience in a large multinational company and with a culturally diverse leadership team.
- Examples of leading large-scale RFP processes to optimize relationships with key vendor partners.
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, facilities or construction management, security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Some travel to US offices.

Responsibilities
- Lead operations of the San Jose headquarters campus and regional offices across the United States.
- Shape the employee experience across arrival, onboarding, the built environment, café and food services, events, and amenities in partnership with HR.
- Own workplace enhancement and facilities project roadmaps and the reliability of building systems and critical infrastructure.
- Lead EHS and physical security and maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Manage WSG operating and capital budgets, including annual plans.
- Oversee facilities management and service partners, ensuring their performance and accountability.
- Lead and develop WSG employees and service lines as a visible leader and coach.
- Present plans and results regularly to senior leadership and participate as a member of the People Leadership Team.
- Manage VIP visitors and events with a high standard of customer service.
- Partner with Cybersecurity and corporate security in Korea on physical security.
