About The Position

Morgan Stanley’s Firm Risk Management (FRM) partners with business units to support efficient risk-adjusted returns, advises the Board, and protects the Firm from credit, market, liquidity, operational, model, and other risks. The Liquidity Risk Department (LRD) independently oversees and monitors Morgan Stanley’s U.S. Banks and assesses the Firm’s ability to withstand adverse idiosyncratic and market-related liquidity shocks. Its mandate includes liquidity risk assessment and identification, limit setting and enforcement, business strategy challenge, oversight of liquidity reserve model methodology, and communicating liquidity risks to senior management and the Board. The role sets risk direction, influences business decisions, exercises senior judgment, applies subject matter expertise, and leads engagement with business units and senior stakeholders. It focuses on governance, escalation, ownership of the liquidity risk framework, and people leadership, while also engaging significantly in day-to-day business activities, including limit setting. The position leads the U.S. LRD Coverage team in setting strategy, priorities, and coverage standards, and is a member of the global LRD leadership team. The successful candidate will build relationships with senior stakeholders, communicate clearly in writing and verbally, and balance multiple high-priority deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
