Tutor Intelligence•Watertown, MA
•$220,000 - $280,000•Onsite

About The Position

Tutor Intelligence is a robotics research and deployment company that builds robot hardware and artificial intelligence. The company designs and manufactures robot hardware, trains its own models, works with end customers, and maintains a fleet across the United States. Its Watertown factory is increasing Cassie production from 30 to more than 80 robots per month and plans to launch Sonny V2 production in 2027. Tutor is hiring its first Head of Quality to establish the quality function from the ground up. The role reports to the CTO and is a peer to the Heads of Manufacturing and Supply Chain. It has authority to hold shipments that do not meet requirements. Initially, the Head of Quality will lead root-cause work directly and then build a small team. The position owns production quality, field reliability, supplier quality, the quality system, and quality data and tools. The first-year objectives include achieving zero escapes during the Cassie production ramp, preparing a launch quality plan for Sonny V2's ramp to 18 robots per day, tracing field failures to root causes and verified fixes, and qualifying second-source suppliers for drives, PCBAs, robot arms, and castings. The role is full-time, exempt, and on-site in Watertown, Massachusetts, with about 25% travel.
