Head of Product GTM & Market Intelligence

Oxford Data Plan•Boston, MA

About The Position

Oxford Data Plan is an alternative data company serving institutional investors, primarily hedge funds, with real-time daily KPI and revenue tracking products. It works with around 100 funds across fundamental long/short, multi-manager, and systematic strategies and is scaling following its Series B. The Head of Product GTM & Market Intelligence owns the connection between client demand and product development. Reporting to the CRO, this senior leader analyzes product-level commercial performance, sizes the target market, ranks product coverage gaps by associated revenue, and turns findings into roadmap recommendations and go-to-market messaging. The role combines data science skills and commercial judgment, with the goal of maximizing ARR by building the right products in the right order and selling them effectively.

Requirements

  • Buy-side experience at a leading hedge fund or asset manager, ideally in a market intelligence or alternative data function evaluating datasets as clients do.
  • Strong quantitative background and working knowledge of Python and SQL, with the ability to work directly with data.
  • Experience sizing markets and making prioritization decisions where capital or revenue is at stake, such as in an investing or strategy role.
  • Experience leading a data function or workstream and translating between technical and commercial teams.
  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to turn analysis into concise recommendations and defend them with leadership and the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Own product-level commercial performance analysis, including win/loss themes, conversion rates by product, segment, and sector, and product-related reasons deals stall.
  • Define and maintain target-market and TAM analysis by client segment, sector, and KPI coverage area to inform roadmap decisions against addressable revenue.
  • Recommend which products, segments, sectors, and KPIs to prioritize, ranked by ARR impact and informed by client interactions, pipeline evidence, and analysis.
  • Maintain a live, ranked view of offering gaps versus client demand, with revenue attached; own coverage-gap closure as a company-level metric while Tech and Partnerships execute the closures.
  • Take a leading role in the Product and Data Strategy Working Group, representing Revenue and bringing win/loss evidence and ARR-ranked client demand into each cycle.
  • Create go-to-market messaging for Sales and Account Management for each product and launch, including positioning, proof points, competitive counters, and launch timing.
  • Work with the CRO, CTO, and Head of Data Partnerships to bring commercial signals into product and partnership decisions and new capabilities to the sales team.
  • Track competitor coverage, pricing, and product developments, and keep the company's differentiation and Series B product narrative current.
