About The Position

The Head of North America LBM (Lumber and Building Materials) Solutions is a strategic leadership role designed to serve as the authoritative bridge between the North American LBM market and GenetiQ’s internal delivery, product, and development teams. This role is tasked with accelerating customer outcomes, de-risking implementations, and ensuring that GenetiQ operates as a deeply embedded industry partner rather than a reactive software vendor. The mandate empowers this role to influence product direction through the lens of operational reality, ensuring that the software aligns with the commercial and competitive requirements of the USA market. By prioritizing operational outcomes over internal roadmap comfort, the role aims to reduce the time between market demand and usable capability, ultimately strengthening GenetiQ’s commercial credibility and scalability in North America. The Head of North America LBM Solutions acts as the "voice of the market" throughout the entire customer lifecycle, from onboarding and solution design to product evolution. The role is not a passive advisory position but an active leadership function with the following primary objectives: Market Alignment: Ensuring implementations reflect the operational and competitive realities of the North American LBM industry. Operational Integration: Acting as a bridge between USA market demands and internal GenetiQ teams (Delivery, Product, and Development). Industry Partnership: Moving GenetiQ beyond the "vendor" label to become a partner that anticipates customer needs based on deep industry expertise. A key part of this role is to strengthen collaboration across Delivery and Product, connecting teams in the UKI and USA to align market insight, product direction, and customer outcomes. This structure is intended to optimize for specific market outcomes: Professional Services / Delivery Focus Primary Driver: Outcome-driven, focusing on customer success, adoption, and time-to-value Market Intelligence: Uses real-world operational insight, identifying customer pain points, friction, and workflows Speed: Prioritises implementation speed, delivering immediate workarounds and practical solutions Optimisation Focus: Balances delivery based on customer urgency and maintaining market credibility Product Management Focus Primary Driver: Roadmap-driven, focused on prioritisation and structured release cycles Market Intelligence: Relies on roadmap discussions and broader or more theoretical needs Speed: Moves at release-cycle speed, delivering longer-term architectural improvements Optimisation Focus: Prioritises technical scalability and architectural integrity. By sitting within Delivery, the role maintains direct exposure to the "truth of the market," including failed assumptions, process gaps, and the urgent requirements of onboarding customers.

Requirements

  • 10+ years within the USA LBM industry is considered essential
  • Experience working both inside an LBM merchant/distributor and within an ERP software vendor ecosystem.
  • Mastery of purchasing, inventory, pricing, dispatch, sales, estimating, rebates, EDI, and multi-branch distribution.
  • The ability to simplify complex discussions and influence senior stakeholders without relying on hierarchical power.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain awareness of USA LBM trends and expectations.
  • Monitor the competitive ERP landscape, including Epicor, ECI Software Solutions, Spruce, BisTrack, DMSi, and Agility.
  • Engage with industry influence networks and buying groups such as LMC, LBM Advantage, Orgill, Emery Jensen and Do it Best.
  • Translate LBM operational knowledge into commercially grounded functional requirements.
  • Challenge software designs that create operational friction or lack usability.
  • Validate that proposed solutions align with real-world workflows in lumber yards, dispatch offices, and contractor sales environments.
  • Act as a strategic escalation point for USA projects facing operational misalignment.
  • Standardize delivery by helping customers adopt proven industry processes rather than requesting excessive customization.
  • Reduce ambiguity in the discovery phase to prevent design rework.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor during workshops, steering committees, and strategic planning.
  • Represent the interests of GenetiQ’s most strategically important customers internally.
  • Educate developers, consultants, and project managers on USA LBM practices.
  • Develop reusable industry templates, process models, and recommended solution patterns to improve consultant onboarding.
