BOI•San Francisco, CA
•$225,000 - $300,000•Remote

About The Position

The Head of Engineering owns the technical direction, architecture, and engineering quality of BOI’s client builds, from initial prototype through production deployment in client environments. This role shapes solution architecture across models, clouds, and platforms; establishes standards for AI evaluation, security, data governance, observability, and reliability; and develops reusable components and internal products that improve future engagements. As BOI’s senior technical voice with client CTOs, CIOs, and business executives, the Head of Engineering explains technical decisions in terms of cost, risk, and value; leads security, compliance, and procurement reviews; and works alongside client teams in their environments. The role also scopes and estimates proposed builds with Directors of Applied AI, develops case studies and reusable intellectual property, and contributes technical thought leadership. The role leads, coaches, and grows the engineering team, which is expected to roughly double over the next year. It establishes high standards and AI-first working practices, and helps build BOI alongside its leadership team in the US and Europe.
