About The Position

BOI is hiring a Head of Engineering to own the technical direction and engineering quality of client AI builds, from initial prototypes through production deployment in client environments. The role shapes solution architecture across models, cloud providers, and platforms, and establishes engineering standards for AI evaluation, security, data governance, observability, and production reliability. It also develops reusable components, patterns, and internal products that improve future engagements. The Head of Engineering serves as BOI’s senior technical voice with client CTOs, CIOs, and business executives. This includes explaining technical decisions in terms of cost, risk, and value; leading security, compliance, and procurement reviews; and working directly in client environments alongside their teams. The role partners with Directors of Applied AI to scope and estimate proposed builds, and turns completed work into case studies, reusable intellectual property, and technical thought leadership. It leads, coaches, and grows the engineering team, which is expected to roughly double over the next year, sets high standards and feedback practices, and promotes AI-first engineering workflows. The Head of Engineering also works with BOI’s leadership team in the US and Europe to help build the company. The position is listed as US remote with Eastern Hours. BOI also offers hybrid working for employees based out of NYC.
