About The Position

Boundless Life is redefining the way families live, work, and learn by empowering them to embrace a nomadic lifestyle that fosters deeper connections and personal growth. We provide family-friendly accommodations, an innovative education system that travels with you, and vibrant communities of like-minded individuals. Our mission is to create immersive 'live abroad' experiences that balance professional commitments with enriching personal development. Since our founding in 2021, we've rapidly expanded to eight locations across Europe, Asia, and Latin America, bringing together over 200 team members from diverse backgrounds. Our growth reflects our commitment to transforming the experience economy and making a meaningful impact on how families integrate work, education, and exploration into their lives. At Boundless Life, we believe in the power of community and the importance of a holistic approach to education. Our programs are designed to inspire curiosity, build resilience, and nurture a global perspective, preparing children for an ever-changing future. Join us in pioneering a new way of living that harmoniously blends work, learning, and adventure, enabling families to thrive in a connected and dynamic world. As Head of Education Excellence, you lead the full education vertical across all eight locations on three continents — the curriculum specialists, the Program and Learning Design team, WASC and accreditation, Summer Camps, Education Center Directors, and the Student Support and Admissions function. You are the person accountable for the quality, coherence, and operational performance of everything that happens inside a Boundless Education Center. Your mission is to ensure that the Boundless educational vision is executed with clarity, consistency, and operational rigor across every destination. We are at a pivotal moment: reimagining what education can look like for globally mobile families, setting trends rather than following them, and proving that project based, place based learning can deliver both academic depth and real world impact at scale. This role exists to make that vision operational and consistent, across every site, every cohort, every season. You report directly to the COO and lead a globally distributed team of education specialists, site directors, and program leads. You are the direct bridge between global ambition and local execution, and the person who ensures that what we promise families is what they actually experience.

Requirements

  • Direct experience leading education organizations across multiple countries, ideally across continents.
  • Understanding of how to hold quality, compliance, and culture together when a team spans time zones, languages, and local contexts.
  • 10+ years in education leadership, with a proven track record of developing and holding accountable other leaders.
  • Experience building or scaling instructional coaching systems across multiple sites and understanding rigorous, consistent implementation on the ground.
  • Deep fluency in project based and experiential learning; ability to identify excellent teaching and articulate why.
  • Operates with a coach-first mentality, focusing on developing people.

  • Comfort in high travel, high stakes environments; ability to stabilize ambiguity and crisis.
  • Ability to lead across cultures without losing rigor or warmth, understanding that global standardization and local sensitivity are not opposites.
  • Experience building high-performing teams and managing performance at the leadership level, including having hard conversations and following through with respect.
  • Strong cross-functional partnership skills, working alongside multiple stakeholders without losing sight of the educational mission.

Nice To Haves

  • The educational vision is being executed with consistency across all sites — families experience the same quality of learning, the same project based approach, and the same standard of communication regardless of which destination they're in.
  • The Education Excellence team is operating as one unified function with clear roles, clear reporting lines, and a shared understanding of what excellent looks like.
  • ECD foundations are in place: clear development plans, defined KPIs, a structured onboarding program, and a coaching cadence that is actually moving the needle on site quality.
  • Instructional quality has a defined minimum standard for PBL delivery and is being assessed and iterated consistently across all locations.
  • WASC compliance is maintained across all locations with no gaps in documentation or process.
  • Family satisfaction with the education experience is measurable, tracked, and trending in the right direction.
  • The education function is seen internally as a source of clarity and stability — by ECDs, by educators, and by the broader organization.

  • Own the rollout and continuous improvement of our core competency framework and ensure it is operationalized consistently across all locations

  • Train and hold ECDs accountable for being strong instructional coaches — effectively observing, giving quality feedback, and developing their educators
  • Build and deliver structured onboarding for new ECDs so they are equipped to lead confidently within their first 90 days
  • Design and deliver ongoing professional development across leadership, instructional coaching, operational discipline, data analysis, and difficult conversation management

  • Develop a clear progression pathway for ECDs with defined competencies from emerging leader to high performing site director
  • Identify and mentor emerging leaders across the education team to build a sustainable leadership pipeline
  • Ensure the Boundless educational philosophy — project based, place based, experiential — is understood, embodied, and consistently delivered by every educator across the network
  • Partner with the Head of PLD to translate the curriculum framework into practical tools, resources, and training that educators can actually use
  • Set and maintain a minimum standard for PBL quality across all sites, moving away from a model where quality depends on individual educator interpretation
  • Ensure the two core promises are delivered for every family: a coherent, documented learning journey for long-term families, and one exceptional place-based project for short-term cohorts
  • Ensure adherence to all Boundless policies, procedures, and WASC accreditation requirements across every location
  • Travel regularly to locations to assess needs, stabilize teams during transitions, and serve as the primary leadership representative during crisis response
  • Oversee the strategic procurement of educational materials and resources so no campus is under-equipped
  • Drive tighter integration between education and operations, reducing friction and conflicting requests from global to local
  • Partner with the People team and ECDs to define hiring criteria and recruit top talent across the education function
  • Set and monitor clear KPIs for ECDs and educators in collaboration with functional leads, using data on student progress, staff performance, and family satisfaction to drive decisions
  • Implement systems for educator wellness, retention, and leadership development that support long-term sustainability
  • Collaborate with Admissions, Sales, and Operations to ensure site-level planning is aligned with global enrollment goals and the realities of each location
  • Partner with ECDs to resolve escalated family concerns related to education, maintaining high levels of trust and satisfaction
  • Work across all youth-facing programming to ensure an integrated experience for children and families across the full Boundless offering
