About The Position

Creative Milkshake is a remote-first performance creative agency specializing in short-form ads for DTC brands on Meta and TikTok. As part of the growing FieldTrip group, the agency is expanding its capabilities and client complexity. This role is crucial in evolving the studio's focus from UGC-first content to elevated branded formats over the next 1-2 years. The position requires a performance-focused individual with deep social media expertise, understanding of production, and the ability to lead creative strategy, social analytics, and creative direction for both production and post-production. This role acts as a bridge within the studio, translating creative briefs into executable directions and providing actionable feedback to elevate the team's work. The mission is to establish and maintain high creative standards, ensuring all content produced is a source of pride.

Requirements

  • 4-8 years of experience in performance creative, creative strategy, or content production at a social-first agency, DTC brand, or UGC studio.
  • Experience working across both creative strategy and production, understanding the needs of each.
  • Deep, current knowledge of TikTok and Meta platforms, including formats, hooks, edit pacing, and performance signals.
  • Ability to distinguish a great ad from a good one and articulate the difference to improve work.
  • Proficiency in building processes, checklists, SOPs, and guides.
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ) and collaborative instincts.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English and confidence in presenting creative rationale to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Own creative quality, end to end, setting and holding the creative standard for all output from storyboard to final ad.
  • Review and provide specific, actionable feedback on Creative Strategy Presentations (CSPs), storyboards, RAW footage, and final ads.
  • Build and maintain checklists, brand guides, and review frameworks to ensure consistent quality.
  • Develop an ad example library and a resource on 'what makes a great UGC ad'.
  • Act as the bridge between strategy and production, translating creative briefs into production-executable direction and vice versa.
  • Run pre-production alignment sessions between Creative Strategists and Producers.
  • Identify and fix breakdowns in inter-departmental handoffs.
  • Maintain a current pulse on social platforms (TikTok and Meta), identifying performing formats, hooks, and oversaturated trends.
  • Feed actionable trend intelligence to the Creative Strategy team.
  • Apply a production lens to trends, assessing feasibility within the studio.
  • Utilize AI tools in ideation, scripting, and research workflows.
  • Take the lead on creative input for a subset of VIP or complex client accounts.
  • Join brainstorming and kick-off sessions requiring senior creative direction.
  • Assist the accounts team in setting accurate creative expectations with clients to reduce revision cycles.
  • Own the approval of Creative Milkshake's own social content and website portfolio.
  • Shape the external representation of Creative Milkshake, including featured work, voice, and brand story.
