About The Position

Glimpse is hiring a Head of Business Operations and Finance to build and lead the company’s internal operating and financial infrastructure. The role owns the leadership team’s operating rhythm, the financial model used by the founders and board, and the internal systems and processes that help the company run smoothly. A finance analyst reports to this position from day one, and the role reports to the COO. The successful candidate will lead planning and business reviews, manage forecasting and budgeting, oversee the finance function and outsourced accounting relationship, and support important company decisions with analysis. They will also improve internal systems and cross-functional workflows, partner with the People function on financial matters, and take ownership of initiatives that do not yet have a clear owner. The role is an in-person position with the team in New York City.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience, beginning in investment banking, private equity, strategic finance, or strategy consulting and followed by in-house experience at a venture-backed company between Series A and Series D.
  • Have owned a forecast, operating model, or budget and be able to explain and defend the model’s assumptions.
  • Have run an operating cadence for a leadership team, including planning, reviews, scorecards, and follow-through when targets were missed.
  • Have prepared board materials and understand how to create decision-oriented presentations.
  • Have managed at least one direct report, or have a clear record of mentoring analysts and readiness to manage a direct report.
  • Write clearly and produce memos that can be understood without a meeting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in or selling into CPG, food and beverage, beauty, or consumer brands.
  • Familiarity with deductions, trade spend, cash application, or retailer payment cycles.
  • Background in B2B fintech, payments, or vertical SaaS.
  • Prior title as chief of staff, Head of Business Operations, or Director of Strategy and Operations at a company with fewer than 200 people.

Responsibilities

  • Own annual and quarterly planning, goal-setting, and weekly and monthly business reviews.
  • Build leadership scorecards, monitor performance against goals, and identify when functions miss targets.
  • Own the operating model, forecast, budget, headcount plan, and runway; run monthly variance analysis against plan.
  • Prepare board materials with the founders and ensure figures in board presentations match the financial model.
  • Manage the finance analyst reporting to the role.
  • Own the relationship with outsourced accounting, monthly close, accounts payable and receivable, and corporate spend.
  • Establish financial controls and calendars to ensure accurate, timely books.
  • Lay the groundwork for a future VP Finance as the company grows.
  • Own internal systems, tools, vendors, and processes; identify and remove friction across Sales, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and People.
  • Provide decision support on pricing, unit economics, deal and bonus pool mechanics, compensation-cycle modeling, and other founder decisions.
  • Partner with the People function on matters involving financial considerations.
  • Scope, run, and hand off new initiatives, pilots, and cross-functional work without an existing owner.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary with meaningful equity.
