About The Position

The Head IS Basketball Coach instructs and works with athletes to prepare them for competition and is responsible for the overall eighth-grade boys' basketball program at Louisville Middle School. The coach reports to the school principal. This extra-duty position is scheduled from October 27, 2026, through December 11, 2026, with a 0.50 FTE and a listed pay range of $1,100–$1,451.50.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Communicate in English by reading, writing, and speaking.
• Complete and submit the BVSD online application.

Nice To Haves

• At least 3 years of coaching experience.
• Knowledge of all aspects of school athletic/activity programming.
• Proven leadership qualities and successful experience working with middle school students.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all boys' basketball teams.
• Develop expectations and direction for the IS basketball program.
• Track students' eligibility and academic progress.
• Prepare the team for competition.
• Teach fundamental basketball skills.
• Communicate with parents, players, and staff.
• Follow school district regulations and policies.
