Hardware Technician
About The Position
Peraton is hiring an onsite Hardware Technician at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. The role provides technical support for computers and associated networks, including installation, troubleshooting, servicing, and repair of computers, network equipment, related software, telephones, cables, and connectors. The technician supports internal and/or external customers, diagnoses and resolves hardware, software, and network problems, and maintains network diagrams, circuit records, and trouble logs. The role also includes instructing users, assessing their information, network, and communications needs, recommending software and hardware purchases, and performing basic PC, PBX, and network software programming.
Requirements
- High school level education plus some advanced training.
- Minimum of 3 years of IT hardware installation and maintenance experience.
- Current Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain TS/SCI with CI Poly.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for computers and associated networks.
- Install, troubleshoot, service, and repair personal computers, network equipment such as servers, modems, and multiplexers, related PC software, telephones, cables, and connectors.
- Provide personal computer, hardware, and software support to internal and/or external customers.
- Diagnose reported hardware, software, and network problems; resolve problems or arrange additional technical support as necessary.
- Maintain network diagrams, circuit records, and trouble logs.
- Instruct users in the use of computers.
- Investigate users’ information, network, and communications needs and make recommendations regarding software and hardware purchases.
- Perform basic PC, PBX, and network software programming.
