About The Position

The Hardware Sales Associate processes and stocks products, builds and fills displays, receives payments for goods or services, and provides genuine, friendly customer care. The role supports store sales by helping customers with project needs, resolving concerns, processing transactions accurately and promptly, and completing assigned store activities. The associate also assists with store maintenance and follows store and department policies and procedures. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Requirements may vary by store location, and management may add to or change position requirements.

Requirements

Some hardware knowledge.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to present information and respond to questions from customers or associates.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Friendly demeanor and good people skills.
Good organizational skills and quick reaction/response time.
Ability to meet the listed physical demands, including standing, walking, handling products, reaching, and lifting.

Responsibilities

Acknowledge customers, help meet their project needs, and resolve concerns quickly to drive store sales.
Process and stock deliveries and back stock.
Build and fill displays.
Scan products and process customer orders accurately, efficiently, and promptly.
Handle all forms of tender and coupons properly.
Process and remain accountable for other services handled at the register.
Answer incoming phone calls using proper phone etiquette.
Perform assigned fixed activities.
Assist with store maintenance and cleaning.
Follow store and department policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
