About The Position

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Hardware Dev Engr II for multiple positions in North Reading, Massachusetts. This role involves designing innovative electromechanical systems for industrial robotic systems, performing test validation of next-generation devices, identifying and mitigating product risks, defining test methodology and coverage for product reliability, and conducting experimental design and execution. The engineer will also perform reliability predictions for failure mechanisms, products under development, and products in the field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Two years of experience in core mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, mechanics of materials, and machine design.
  • Two years of experience applying engineering mathematics.
  • Two years of experience with material properties and selection.
  • Two years of experience with SolidWorks or similar Computer Aided Design (CAD) and understanding of best practices for part design, advanced assemblies, and complex configuration management.
  • Two years of experience creating detailed technical drawings and specifications.
  • Two years of experience running Finite Element Analysis simulations to inform final engineering designs.
  • Two years of experience prototyping engineering designs to prove effectiveness against requirements, create and execute test plans, and inform project engineering decisions.

Responsibilities
