About The Position

REPA is hiring a Hardware Design Engineer II to design and develop digital, analog, and mixed-signal hardware for Raytheon radar receiver, exciter, and transmitter subsystems. The work supports signal processing, command, and control applications across new and existing products. The engineer will collaborate with systems, mechanical, manufacturing, and electrical engineers on design trades, requirements flow-down, electrical analysis, test planning, and delivery of hardware that meets program requirements. The role also includes transition-to-production activities and technical support for production. Small-project or process management may be available within the position’s area of responsibility. Occasional travel to supplier, integration, and customer sites is possible, with travel between Massachusetts sites anticipated. This is a first-shift, 100% onsite role based in Tewksbury or Marlborough, Massachusetts.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a STEM degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Combined experience in two or more of the following: digital design from requirements development through build and test; RF/analog design from requirements development through build and test; or production testing and troubleshooting circuits.
  • Experience with design simulation tools such as HyperLynx or LTSpice and analytical tools such as Matlab.
  • Experience with design-development tools such as Mentor Graphics’ Xpedition schematic capture and layout.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an interim Secret U.S. government security clearance before the start date; U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience interfacing with and testing digital-to-analog converters (D/A) and analog-to-digital converters (A/D).
  • Experience with high-speed digital interfaces such as JESD204B, DDR3/DDR4 memory, SERDES, 10G+ Ethernet, and Fiber Channel.
  • Experience with FPGA hardware inference designs, including SERDES and LVDS chip-to-chip and board-to-board.
  • Experience allocating and flowing down requirements from system to component level.
  • Experience with cost estimating, budget management, and schedule management.
  • Laboratory experience using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, phase noise analyzers (PNA), and spectrum analyzers to test and verify digital and mixed-signal circuits and systems.
  • Experience in a production environment.
  • Experience in technical writing, proposal writing, and oral presentations.
  • Active or existing Secret U.S. security clearance.
  • Team leadership skills, including cost and schedule management, plus proposal writing and presentation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform circuit and subsystem architecture, design, modeling, simulation, and verification.
  • Integrate and test hardware at component, circuit card assembly (CCA), and subsystem levels.
  • Collaborate with systems, mechanical, manufacturing, and electrical engineers on design trades and requirements flow-down.
  • Perform electrical analysis, develop test plans, and deliver hardware that meets program requirements.
  • Support transition to production and provide technical support to manufacturing and test engineers.
  • Potentially manage small projects or processes within the area of responsibility.
  • Travel occasionally to supplier, integration, and customer sites, and between Massachusetts sites as anticipated.
