About The Position

The Merchandiser works independently in assigned retail stores to maintain and showcase Hallmark products, build relationships with retailers, and represent Hallmark. The role involves day-to-day merchandising, seasonal holiday support, and assisting with department resets and installations. Merchandisers may occasionally work with products from other companies in the stores they service. This is a part-time role averaging 3–12 hours per week, with a variable schedule during the work week. Starting pay is $16.50–$18.50 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Paid training includes hands-on instruction and virtual classroom training. Eligible employees receive annual pay increases. Part-time employees working fewer than 30 hours have access to voluntary benefits. Merchandisers use a Hallmark-provided mobile device to restock, organize, and monitor inventory, communicate with supervisors, report time, provide feedback, and complete surveys related to merchandising activities. They are responsible for the Hallmark product display at assigned stores and interact professionally and courteously with store employees, management, and customers. Seasonal work may involve additional days and extended hours before and after major holidays, and may include working on the holiday itself. Reset and installation assignments may involve building or installing fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections; remodel assignments are typically communicated two weeks in advance and may take place in evenings or on weekends. Merchandisers may also support other team members in their territories. The job is physically demanding and takes place on retail selling floors and in back stockrooms. It requires frequent handling of items up to 30 pounds and occasional handling of items up to 50 pounds, along with kneeling, squatting, walking, standing, and potentially climbing stairs and step ladders.
