About The Position
This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Half Course Instructor for STAT 1P21 (Preparation for Introductory Statistics) for the Fall D2 term. The compensation for a half course is $7,887.59, nominally 195 hours. Instructors are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course if the lecture is 2 hours/week. Duties and responsibilities include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time such as preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty.
Requirements
- PhD in Statistics or a related discipline. (In the absence of PhD applicants, applicants with an MSc in Mathematics or Statistics will be considered.)
- Prior teaching and/or research experience in Statistics.
- Evidence of competent and effective teaching at the undergraduate university level (letters of reference and course/performance evaluations).
