About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for STAT 1P21 for the Fall D2 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group). Compensation for Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator, and Lab Demonstrator positions is based on qualifications. Employees without a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour (effective September 1, 2026). Employees with a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate of $36.67 per hour (effective September 1, 2026). Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.

Requirements

• Achieved a minimum of 80% in the course
• At least third- or fourth-year students currently enrolled in an STAT DEGREE, or who have completed an STAT DEGREE or equivalent
• Effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students
• Punctual in attending classes
• Able to meet appropriate deadlines

Responsibilities

• Scheduled contact time with students
• Non-classroom time including preparation of seminar material
• Student consultation
• Marking or grading
• Examination proctoring
• Attending lectures
• Holding office hours
• Other course administration as may be required
