About The Position

JCPenney Salon is seeking a hair stylist to provide professional styling services and create a superior client experience. The stylist will learn clients’ needs and expectations, deliver current haircuts and finishing services, and provide chemical services. The role calls for self-motivation, flexibility, a passion for the beauty industry, strong people skills, and the ability to build a client base and work collaboratively with salon team members. Commission is based on credential level, sales, and productivity. The listed pay range is USD $15.00–$16.00 per hour.

Requirements

Maintain a current cosmetology license in the state where applying.
Demonstrate self-motivation, flexibility, and a passion for the beauty industry.
Have the ability to build a client base and partner with salon team members.
Demonstrate people skills and willingness to participate in a learning environment.
Show sound judgment, accountability, initiative, and the ability to work efficiently.

Responsibilities

Determine clients’ needs and provide professional styling services, including current cuts, finishing, and chemical services.
Build a client base and respond to clients in a timely manner by listening and interacting.
Partner with salon team members and contribute to a learning environment.
Solve problems and make decisions that support sales, profit, or customer service; work efficiently and effectively.
Provide great customer service and build positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships.
Take accountability for actions and outcomes, and proactively seek ways to improve the customer experience.
